Westfield Miranda Mall, Sydney

Summary

As the lighting design experts for Westfield Miranda Mall’s refurbishment and expansion project, our main goal was to create a shopping experience that sets the standard for retail spaces. Our approach involved designing each area of the centre to have its own unique qualities, catering to different customers and their shopping needs. We achieved this by using lighting treatments and decorative features that accentuate and reinforce the desired ambience of each area.

Our biggest challenge was to break away from the typical uniformity and high ambient light levels found in most shopping centres. We successfully managed this by using minimal lighting and placing it away from the shopfronts, allowing architectural details to stand out and shopfronts to be energised. This also helped to distinguish common areas from tenancies, with the shop window becoming the accent.

Our lighting design for Westfield Miranda Mall has transformed the space into a vibrant and animated retail destination, where each area has unique character and charm.
