Chris Page

Studio Leader

Chris Page is Studio Leader of FPOV’s Melbourne studio, bringing a rich and multidisciplinary background shaped by a career in live theatre and the creative arts. Since joining the practice in 2018, Chris has become a key contributor to the studio’s most imaginative and technically complex projects, spanning both built environments and natural landscapes.

With a foundation in Production from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) and further specialisation in Illumination Design from the University of Sydney, Chris combines technical precision with a strong creative instinct. His early career saw him working with leading arts organisations across Australia and internationally, developing a deep understanding of light, storytelling, and spatial experience.

Chris is particularly passionate about projects that explore the relationship between light and the natural environment. His work in Dark Sky design reflects a commitment to reducing light pollution while enhancing the integrity and beauty of landscapes. This approach is underpinned by a thoughtful balance of creativity, environmental responsibility, and technical rigour.

As Studio Leader, Chris plays a central role in shaping the Melbourne studio’s creative direction and project delivery, while fostering collaboration across FPOV’s global network. A pivotal member of our audio visual offering, he also contributes to content creation and system design, strengthening our integrated approach to sensory design.

Chris’s experience spans public realm, hospitality, cultural, and infrastructure sectors, with notable work delivered across Australia, Asia, and the Middle East. He is driven by a desire to create meaningful, immersive experiences through light, always considering the broader environmental and human context of each project.
