Bernie Tan-Hayes

CEO

Bernie serves as CEO at FPOV and is based in Gold Coast, Australia. He is responsible for shaping the future vision and development of the business in the Asia Pacific Region, while also leading the AV and Technology initiatives across the entire organisation.

Before joining FPOV in 2010, Bernie spent twelve years as a freelance Lighting Designer and Technical Manager in the theatre industry. Following his graduation from NIDA, he served as a touring technical manager for companies such as the Sydney and Melbourne Theatre Companies and Belvoir Street Theatre.

In his capacity as a freelance Lighting Designer, Bernie has collaborated with most major theatre and opera companies in Australia and internationally. His extensive and diverse body of work speaks to his expertise. Additionally, he returned to NIDA as a lecturer in lighting design and as a course advisor for the lighting component of the technical production course.

With wide exposure to large international projects and clients, Bernie possesses a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in delivering excellent return on investment for clients. His extensive experience in the arts and entertainment industry has given him a unique insight into how lighting, sound and the environment can profoundly impact behaviour and emotions. Furthermore, his extensive touring experiences have fuelled his passion for exploring different cultures.

Bernie is an expert in successfully delivering and diplomatically managing large-scale projects. He possesses exceptional leadership skills, guiding sizable teams to the successful completion of projects. Notably, Bernie has overseen the design and delivery of several of our largest hospitality and gaming projects, including Crown Towers Hotel and VIP Gaming in Manila, Sand Cotai Retail Mall Expansion, Shangri-la Mauritius, Sky City Adelaide Refurbishment, and Crown Sydney.
