The interior concept for the project is grounded in soft luxury, echoing the reflective and fluid qualities of Sydney’s coastal landscape. The architecture and interiors use a calm, tactile material palette – pale stone, soft curves, finely detailed joinery – and the lighting was designed to reinforce this atmosphere through warmth, subtlety and rhythm throughout the day.
A warm dim lighting strategy allows the interior to shift gently with the natural light cycle. Warmer tones ease residents into the early morning and evening, while slightly cooler hues support daytime clarity. The goal was to achieve a constant sense of comfort that feels instinctive rather than mechanical.
In the lobby, decorative glass clusters become the heart of the arrival experience. Their soft glimmer adds a touch of refinement and complements the pale stone finishes, creating a backdrop that feels both premium and understated. Reflective ceiling treatments amplify the light, mimicking the shimmering qualities of the harbour that inspired the project’s interior designers.
The pool level continues the coastal reference. The lighting here is deliberately gentle, avoiding overhead glare. A luminous edge detail around the pool produces a calm, even glow, allowing residents to unwind without visual noise. Soft wall washing provides a relaxing ambience after a swim, reinforcing the spa-like quality of the wellness areas.
The rooftop sun deck is one of the project’s standout experiences, overlooking the Sydney skyline. Custom lanterns were designed for the barbecue pavilion, paired with clusters of glass lanterns to create a warm, sociable environment for evening gatherings. These soft glows keep the space usable after sunset without compromising the tranquillity of the view.
Landscape lighting on the podium was developed with Turf Design Studio to complement the sandstone and planting palette. The focus was on creating dappled light effects – echoes of foliage shadows – that bring depth to the sandstone walls and architectural surfaces.
Special attention was given to the main entries and to the sculptural artwork by Richard Sweeney. His piece, inspired by the striated layers of local sandstone, is illuminated to highlight its carved textures and flowing form, linking art, architecture, and landscape into a coherent experience.
Lighting partners included Mlight Group, LiteSource, Woods Bagot, Richards Stanisich, and Brent Winstone – each supporting the project with specialised decorative and architectural solutions.
